ATTENBOROUGH FC 1 FC SEZ 4
We arrived at the ground very early and soon greeted and welcomed by top clubman Sid Brown in the bright sunshine, as the players arrived from both sides,we enjoyed a cuppa in the clubhouse. With both team lines got from the referee Andy Benner and his Assistant Michael Evans and a stroll on my crutches to the far side of the pitch, as Shawn took my chair over there.
This morning I made the decision that I feel the Charity Blog had raised £1398 for Family Fund so chucked in £2 to round the total up to £1400 and was to begin the new blog running total now for Childrens Bereavement Centre.
Just as the match was about to kick off, a lady came and sat down with her chair next to me and I asked if she was the Secretary of FC Sez and it turned out to be Jackie Federici, who I have spoken to many times on the phone but never met in person, she then gave me a £20 donation from herself and £20 donation from FC Sez, so a BIG THANKYOU to her.
The game kicked off and Attenborough had the first attack but the shot went wide, but with only 2 minutes on the clock, a throughball from midfield saw Sez's left winger LIAM McCORMACK skip through and chip over the outcoming keeper to make it 1-0 to the visitors, funny enough I'd just mentioned to Jackie that Liam was to play in the NSL Rep team and she said he would score a goal for me today, well it didnt take long.
FC Sez began to pass the ball around at a quick pace and on 11 minutes, the ball was played back for LIAM McCORMACK to slot home his second of the game and double his teams advantage. In the 13th minute, LIAM McCORMACK completed his hat trick to make it 3-0 and it was beginning to look like a mismatch of a game, but to Attenborough's credit they began to put in tackles and forced the visiting keeper in to 2 very good saves.
In the 27th minute, Attenborugh pulled back a goal afte a trip in the penalty area left Referee Andy Benner with no choice but to point to the spot, ETHAN WINFIELD stepped up and planted the spot kick in to the back of the net.
FC Sez pushed forward and it was the turn of the home keeper to be in fine form with several saves.
Half Time came and Jackie asked if I would like a drink fetching, as she was getting the coffees, out the blue Hazel comes round with a cuppa followed by Jackie, so 2 cuppas went down nicely.
The Second Half was a very even affair with not many clear cut chances, it seemed that both teams were cancelling each other out but as the game entered injury time, the visitors broke away and SAM EcELROY fired the ball home to make it a 4-1 victory for his side.
Must mention Referee Andy Benner and his Assistant Michael Evans who I thought had good games plus each team provided a Assistant Referee for each half and both were fair and honest.
I was sat near to both dugouts and must say the respect shown by both sets of dugouts was outstanding, a credit to both clubs.
